This weekend we teamed up with Little Forest Folk for a day of outdoor adventures.
Our mini expedition took us through the darkest forests, the deepest puddles and the muddiest swamps, in search of the mysterious ‘Big Foot’.
According to the kids’ prior experience, the best way to catch a Big Foot is to lure it out with some yucky snacks, so it was only right that this adventure began in the ‘Mud Kitchen’.
Evie (Age 3) took the lead and it wasn’t long before we found some Big Foot clues…
Big Foot’s den meant we were on the right track, but we had to clear the leaves to follow the footprints.
Unfortunately, in the process of clearing clumps of leaves, our photographer Alex took a dog poo to the head.
Luckily this situation was resolved with a few wet wipes and it wasn’t long before we were back on the trail.
Our next obstacle was quick sand.
We nearly lost a boot
Then we nearly lost Evie
Luckily Veda (age 5) rescued everybody and the adventure continued.
We searched the tops of the trees
We checked the bottom of the rivers
Unfortunately the only feet we found on our expedition were little ones.
Fortunately those little feet fit perfectly in our new Welly Boots and they stayed warm and dry all day long.
We’ll have to find the forest monsters another day.
